Lavender sugar is a sweet and floral delight! It can be used in so many ways in your kitchen or make for a lovely gift. It only requires two ingredients and a food processor to create.

There's nothing quite like when the garden and the kitchen meet up in exciting and delicious ways. This is truly a special little recipe! It is so easy to make yet yields a very fancy and unique sugar.

Using lavender to create a lavender infused honey is delicious but definitely takes longer. This is a great way to make a lavender sweetener in less time! I also love making homemade vanilla sugar for baking and gifting!

What is lavender sugar used for?

  • Beverages - Use it in a beverage recipe (such as lemonade) or use it to rim your glass! It's the perfect touch when you are serving lavender honey lemonade.
  • Baked goods - Use this in a simple baking recipe (with the flavors in mind, of course!) to add a personalized touch. Sprinkle it on top of sugar cookies, scones, or even cakes for an added bit of sparkle and flavor.
  • Tea or coffee - Add a spoonful of lavender sugar to your next cup of tea or coffee to sweeten it up!
  • A gift - This makes a great homemade gift for anyone in your life who loves cooking and baking and/or herbs!

What does lavender sugar taste like?

This sugar has a sweet floral flavor that isn't overwhelming (nor is it soapy!) 1 tablespoon gives you a lovely touch of lavender whereas 2 tablespoons is much more intense. The choice is yours!

What you need

  • Dried lavender - Culinary grade dried lavender can sometimes be sourced locally or you can purchase it online. If you are sourcing from your own garden or locally, be sure to dry the lavender as you don't want any moisture content in your lavender sugar!
  • Sugar - While I use raw unbleached cane sugar, you can also use conventional white sugar if that is what you prefer.
